Who it is for
Erasmus and exchange students, international students in a new country, anyone in a programme taught in a second language, and guests at a lecture or seminar in a language they don't fully follow. It also helps when your language is good but the pace, the accent or the technical words are hard.
How it works
- 1Pick your language. Choose the language to translate into, or "Transcribe only" to read the lecture in its own language.
- 2Put the phone near the speaker. On the desk or close to a loudspeaker, then tap Start listening. The lecturer's language is detected automatically.
- 3Read along and keep it. The newest line stays at the bottom in large type. Afterwards the whole session is saved on your phone.
Made for the lecture hall
- Live transcription and translation, word by word, in 60 languages — even when the lecturer switches language mid-sentence.
- Add course names and technical terms before class so they come out right.
- Tap once to mark an important moment, like an exam hint, and find it in the session summary.
- Questions from the room are separated by speaker and colour-coded.
- Copy, share or save the transcript as a text file for your notes.
- Turn the phone sideways for full-screen captions; the screen stays on while you listen.
What it costs
- Try it without an account — a short guest trial each day, captions only.

Private by design
Voixie Live does not record your audio. Speech is streamed over an encrypted connection only to turn it into text, and our speech provider does not store it or use it for training. Transcripts are saved only on your phone unless you share them. No ads.
Questions
Can I use Voixie Live in a large lecture hall?
Yes. Put the phone on your desk, or closer to the lecturer or a loudspeaker if you sit far back. Clear sound gives the best captions; distance, echo and background noise lower accuracy.
Which languages does it understand?
Voixie Live understands 60 languages and detects them automatically, even when the speaker switches language. You can translate into any of the 60 languages or transcribe only.
Does it record the lecture?
No. Your audio is never recorded. The transcript is saved only on your phone, and you can copy, share or save it as a text file.
How much can I use it for free?
You can try it without an account, and a free account gives you 30 minutes of translation once on each device. For a full day of lectures there is the Day Pass for $1.99 in the Android app (coming to iPhone), or a monthly plan.
Do I need an internet connection?
Yes. Speech is turned into text on our speech provider's servers, so you need mobile data or Wi-Fi while you listen.
