Who it is for
People who are deaf or hard of hearing, people with hearing loss that makes groups and noisy rooms difficult, and the family, friends, teachers and colleagues who talk with them. Voixie Live is an everyday aid for following speech. It is not a certified captioning or medical service, and accuracy depends on the sound: the closer and clearer, the better the captions.
How it works
- 1Choose "Transcribe only". Captions appear in the language being spoken. If someone speaks another language, you can translate instead.
- 2Put the phone near the speaker. Tap Start listening. At a service or event, sit near a loudspeaker.
- 3Read along. The newest line stays in the same place at the bottom of the screen, in large type, so you can glance down and look back up.
Easy to read
- Large, highly legible type (Atkinson Hyperlegible), a text size control, and dark and light themes.
- Different speakers get different colours; tap a name to rename it.
- Turn the phone sideways for full-screen captions you can show to others.
- The screen stays on while you listen.
- Speech to text in 60 languages, detected automatically.
- Add names and words you expect, such as people at the table or terms from a class.
- Sessions are kept on your phone to read again, copy or share.

Private by design
Voixie Live does not record your audio. Speech is streamed over an encrypted connection only to turn it into text, and our speech provider does not store it or use it for training. Transcripts are saved only on your phone unless you share them. No ads.
Questions
Can I get captions in the same language people are speaking?
Yes. Choose "Transcribe only" and Voixie Live shows what is said in the language it is spoken in. You can also translate into any of 60 languages.
How accurate are the captions?
With clear speech close to the phone, captions are usually good, but they are not perfect. Distance, echo, background noise and people talking over each other lower accuracy. Voixie Live is an everyday aid, not a certified captioning service.
Can I make the text bigger?
Yes. The captions use large, highly legible type, and you can change the text size and switch between dark and light themes. Turn the phone sideways for full-screen captions.
Can I use it at a religious service or a public event?
Yes. Sit near a loudspeaker or the person speaking and keep the phone on mobile data or Wi-Fi. Please follow the venue's and local rules about transcribing speech.
Is my audio recorded?
No. Your audio is never recorded. Speech is streamed only to turn it into text, and the transcript is saved only on your phone unless you share it.
